MPRG – The Birds and the Bees: In Conversation

20/05/2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

$18

We speak in unison about the ‘Birds and the Bees’ as a human point of difference, however, in nature are they actually that dissimilar? Do bees engage in meaningful migration, as we know birds do, or do they simply expand their territories as their colony grows. What important role do bees play as pollinators and like native bird species, are native Australian bees also threatened? Generally speaking, bees enjoy a warmer climate, but some clever bees make hibernating chambers to ‘over winter’ before becoming active again in Spring.

Join exhibition Curator Kate Gorringe-Smith and Mornington Peninsula bee advocate, Councillor David Gill on World Bee Day (May 20) as we discuss the curious and extraordinarily important lives of the birds and the bees.

Bookings are essential as numbers are limited!
